Meet
Lolita Ramsey, LCPC
I am passionate about helping individuals restore the hope that they have lost due to unfortunate life circumstances that have caused emotional and mental distress.
I enjoy working with young women who experience anxiety, depression, have trouble with communication, and struggle with prioritizing self.
MY REASON
As a young woman I start off on my college journey without a clue of what I wanted to do with my career. I started off as a business major and was completely miserable. During the beginning of my college journey, I also lost my mother and had to step away from academics for about a month.
I decided to return to school. It was hard many times, I found myself struck with grief and falling into depressive episodes. I struggle many times to balance school life with my social life while dealing with my personal stuff.
When I made it through my undergrad program with my bachelor’s in hand and graduating with honors, I knew that no matter, what the sky was the limit. Even when life deals you the worse hand, as long as you keep playing, you stay in the game. As long as you’re in the game you have a chance to win! Never stop playing the game!
MY HOW
In the midst of it all that I was dealing with during college I found a love for psychology. During that time, I gained empathy for people like me who were struggling through life trying to figure it out. I dedicated my life to becoming a therapist to help those who were living with mental disorders.
I wanted to let people know that struggle doesn’t mean defeat. I struggled my way right through wanting to give up many times but instead I pushed forward.
I bring hope back to individuals through therapy by helping them transform their lives and give them the skills and tools to be successful.
MY WANTS
I hope to use my passion to transform the world. These are the things I want to give to my clients and the world:
1. Awareness: Expanding knowledge on mental health and resources
2. Advocacy: Destigmatizing and normalizing mental health
3. Self-Care: Stressing the importance of self-care and providing self-care skills and tools
4. Hope: Using my skill set to provide individuals with support, encouragement, and tools to regain hope to dream again
5. Recovery: Helping individuals address mental health issues in order to feel like their best selves
6. Support: Here to listen to the needs of others and provide support using my expertise
